Traveling for business and pleasure has been a part of the Hovar family for many years. Virgil first fell in love with bubble tea on a business trip to the bay area. Opening a bubble tea and espresso café locally became a passion for Virgil and his daughter Sarah.
We were established in 2005 with a goal to bring the joy of great bubble tea and coffee drinks to Bloomington-Normal, and provide a space where the community can feel a part of who we are. We’ve loved every second of bringing it here.
At Fusion Brew, we are serious about two things: Coffee and Bubble Tea.
We strive to make specialty coffee more accessible. It is important for our guests to enjoy well-crafted coffee while also having the freedom to ask questions and learn! We are proud of our partnership with Counter Culture Coffee who has been a pioneer of coffee, sustainability, and transparency in the industry for over two decades.

When we opened, we were the first bubble tea café in Bloomington-Normal. We’ve loved educating people about this unique drink and are very proud to have converted many of our guests to bubble tea!
Bubble tea is a drink concept that originated in Taiwan in the early 80s. While a unique aspect of bubble tea are the textures that can be added to the drinks, that is only a small part of this great drink! We serve four varieties of bubble tea: milk tea, flavored tea, slush, and snow.

We know that we would not be who we are today without the support of the community we are a part of. From serving at after proms for the area high schools to serving coffee for cancer survivors at the local More Than Pink Walk, we are always looking for ways to give back.
